SCC receives national awards for marketing and communications

St. Charles Community College received five national-level Paragon awards from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR), an affiliate council of the American Association of Community Colleges. The SCC Department of Marketing and Communications took home a Gold Paragon in the Poster, Division B, category for the Rhinoceros play poster. SCC Board of Trustees to Begin Search for College’s Fourth President

At a special meeting in late March, the St. Charles Community College Board of Trustees selected an executive search firm to assist the Board in its work to select the college’s next president. SCC professor named winner of 2016 TAA Textbook Excellence Award

“Anatomy & Physiology” by Kevin Patton, St. Charles Community College professor emeritus, and Gary A. Thibodeau, is a winner of the 2016 Textbook & Academic Authors Association’s Textbook Excellence Award. Patton holds a doctorate from the Union Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio, a Master of Science degree from Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, and an Artium Baccalaureatus from St. Louis University. Dixon to Deliver ECC Commencement Address

ECC Foundation Kicks Off Campaign to Raise Funds for Business and Industry Center Renovations

A $1.2 million campaign has been kicked off by the East Central College Foundation to raise money to help the college renovate the former Gala Center into a Business and Industry Center. The Foundation campaign, Building for Success: An Initiative for Tomorrow’s Workforce, will solicit contributions for remodeling the space into a Business and Industry Center that will house ECC’s precision machining, industrial engineering technology and HVAC programs.  Lab and classroom space to accommodate non-credit welding classes is also planned for the ... SCC kicks off 30th anniversary year with Birthday Bash

St. Charles Community College will observe its 30th anniversary on April 1, 2016. To celebrate, SCC will host a birthday bash from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday, April 4, in Scooter’s Place in the Student Center. Students, faculty, staff and visitors are encouraged to stop by Scooter’s (and SCC’s) Birthday Bash to sign a giant birthday card for Scooter, the official SCC mascot, and enjoy free cake, fun games, a photo booth and giveaways. SCC Board of Trustees Secretary, William Pundmann, attends 2016 National Legislative Summit

William Pundmann, St. Charles Community College Board of Trustees secretary, participated in the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) 2016 National Legislative Summit in February to meet with federal lawmakers. The National Legislative Summit, held in Washington, D.C., is the premier community college advocacy event, brining together more than 1,000 community college leaders. SCC Board of Trustees to Host Public Forums in March to Update Presidential Profile

SCC Board of Trustees to Begin Search for College’s Fourth President

At their regular January meeting on Monday, Jan. 25, the St. Charles Community College Board of Trustees accepted the resignation of SCC President Ron Chesbrough, Ph.D., effective June 30, 2016.  Chesbrough has accepted the presidency at Cazenovia College, a four-year private residential college near Syracuse, N.Y., beginning July 1, 2016.
